
Sue is hearing both her parents are Deaf and has used BSL from birth, being involved in the Deaf Community has led Sue to pursue a career with Deaf people.
Sue has worked in a number of different roles with Deaf people mainly within education both primary and further education. Starting with Communication Support,
she then progressed onto teaching, she is also a highly respected tutor with 10 years of teaching experience in adult education behind her, she now holds the
position of a of BSL Lead Tutor within a Further Education College. It is no surprise with the experience and knowledge behind her that Sue is involved with many
organisations in campaigning for the rights of Deaf people and holds positions in many committees. Sue has also set up varies groups such as Deaf Youth Clubs,
Woman's Adventure Group and courses for Deaf people to gain equal access.
Qualifications:
She has also attended all curriculum training leading to the CACDP Foundation Certificate in Deaf Studies, British Sign Language Level 2 and the new CACDP Level 3. She is currently studying a Post Graduate in English / BSL Interpreting at the University of Central Lancashire.
