Aims
To promote equal access and opportunity for both deaf and
hearing people by:
- Delivering high quality courses to the general public in
relation to Deaf Studies and British Sign Language
- Raising awareness of individuals and organisations through
accredited courses
- Delivering tailor made courses to meet the needs of individuals
or organisations
- To deliver high quality training both locally and
nationally
- Supporting and advising services on how to fulfil their duties
under The Disability Discrimination Act
- Providing training, support and advice for Deaf people in a
number of specialised areas:
Rights to access under the DDA
Access at work
Access to education
- Providing and putting people in touch with BSL/English
interpreting services
- Supporting people who are studying either Deaf Studies or BSL
by providing 1:1 private tuition, giving advice on suitable
resources and where they may access specific information that they
are looking for.
- Create new resources that are not yet available DVD's, books and study packs etc.
